Art Deco oak sideboard with mirror (removable)

Delicate oak Art Deco cabinet from 1936, with two side doors and a central door topped with a drawer. The entire front is decorated with floral motifs carved into the wood. The original marble top, broken, was replaced with a custom-cut MDF top and painted in a light, warm shade (Unikalo professional-quality paint, from the Naé bio-based range, Skimming Stone from the Farrow and Ball color chart) then protected with a clear varnish. It is adorned with an original beveled mirror, which is removable and can therefore be used elsewhere. The wood was cleaned, sanded, and protected with an antique wax. The interior, fitted with a sturdy full-width shelf, has been preserved in unfinished light wood. The drawer bottom has been lined with high-quality swallow-pattern wallpaper. The doors open and close easily with the original keys, and the drawer slides perfectly. The original handles have been cleaned and preserved. Note: This is an antique item sold second-hand and hand-restored. It therefore naturally presents irregularities as well as traces of time and use. This is precisely what gives it its charm and unique character. In particular, on this sideboard: Some woodworm marks, particularly on the back of the cabinet. However, treatment against wood-eating insects has been applied, and the wood is now sound. Despite careful sanding, the wood shows some irregularities in color, due to the presence of the old dark varnish that covered it (see photos). The original handles and keys are patinated and show signs of use (see photos). The mirror's surface shows some slight pitting, which in no way affects the quality of the reflection (see photos).
