Elegant and rare sideboard, serving type, in Louis XVI style. Work dating from the late 19th century, remarkable for its excellent marquetry work on the front, composed of a magnificent veneer of elm burl, mahogany, and inlays of lemon wood. The piece is topped with a beautiful marquetry credenza surrounding a bevelled glass mirror, in impeccable condition and without any pitting. Beautiful bronze fittings on the top of the mirror as well as on the sides of the sideboard, the handles, and the lock entries. Some signs of oxidation. Decorative elements inspired by vegetation with braids of laurel, oak leaves, and acanthus leaves, with a "torch" decoration in Napoléon III style for the lock entries. The top is covered with a magnificent original purple breccia marble, bordered with a chamfer on the exposed face, 31mm thick and in perfect condition. It opens with 3 doors and 3 drawers, with curved doors and drawers at both ends. It rests on fluted spindle legs ending in bronze hooves. The interior is fitted with a shelf. Original keys and locks in perfect working order. Dimensions: Width 130 cm, depth 40 cm, total height 145 cm (with mirror), height to the marble top 110 cm (without mirror). Period piece in very good original condition and preservation despite its century of existence. From a family home in Burgundy. For connoisseurs, antique dealers, or second-hand dealers. Mirror and marble are removable for transport. Delivery possible at the buyer's expense.
