Walnut chest of drawers, black marble top

Large four-drawer chest with dovetail joints. The four drawer fronts are made of burr walnut, 1 cm thick. Each drawer is equipped with a working lock, a chiseled pewter escutcheon, and two matching handles with floral motifs. The top is 18 mm thick black/grey marble with chamfered corners to perfectly follow the shape of the piece. The front legs are veneered in wood in the Louis Philippe style. A beautiful and authentic chest of high-quality marble, traditionally crafted in the 19th century. The piece is fully functional; the drawers slide smoothly, all four locks are working, and one key is included. In very good overall condition considering its age; there are signs of wear on the marble top (a slight irregularity on the back edge, not visible when the piece is placed against a wall). Some minor damage to the walnut burl, a few woodworm holes without affecting the structure; the piece is sound and solid. Drawer interior: width 91 cm / height 10 or 14 cm / depth 41 cm.
