Overview: Elegant Empire / early Biedermeier armoire from Vienna, circa 1815. Straightlined, formal silhouette with a projecting moulded cornice and plinth base. Materials & finish: Book-matched walnut veneer, French-polished (shellac) for a vivid grain. Brass fittings and accents with ebonised full columns featuring Corinthian brass capitals and bases. Interior door faces counter-veneered in polished cherry wood. Interior: Fitted with three adjustable shelves lined in black fabric. Large iron box lock and internal locking bar for secure closure. Transport: The cabinet can be completely dismantled into its main parts (top, bottom, 2 sides, 2 doors, 2 backsides) to facilitate transport and delivery. Provenance & design: Austrian manufacture (Vienna), transitional piece between Empire and Biedermeier styles, showing restrained classical lines and rich veneering.
