Striking mahogany 19th century Italian commode from the Empire period, circa 1815-1820. The straight, timeless shape combined with unique mahogany veneer makes this early 19th century trumeau commode an absolute dreamlike piece that can anchor any style and serve as an antique storage piece useful in any room of the home. This convenient-sized cabinet or credenza offers great scale, elegant and refined charm, and plenty of storage space. Two doors open to reveal a shelf unit inside. There is only one shelf now, but this piece of furniture is already set up to accommodate others if necessary. The top showcasing the most desirable mahogany grain rests on a molded apron band above the two doors adorned with beautiful carved rosettes. Architectural paneled framings along the doors complete the exceptional look of this precious European antique piece of furniture. This two-door cabinet is raised by a fine rectangular socle.
