This pair of Amanta armchairs was designed by the renowned designer Mario Bellini for C&B Italia. Their distinctive silhouette and innovative combination of materials make them a remarkable example of mid-century Italian design. The armchairs feature a white fibreglass shell that creates a striking contrast with the bulky brown corduroy cushions. The structure rests on black spherical feet that visually complement the design. The modular nature of the Amanta system allows the armchairs to be placed individually or combined to form a sofa. The armchairs are in good condition, showing signs of wear consistent with their age that enhance their vintage character. The upholstery is intact and remains very comfortable. (There are small stains on the cushions, slight discolouration, and scratches on the fibreglass—although these are not visible when the cushions are in place—and the underside of the cushions shows wear in two places, which is also hidden when the cushions are positioned correctly.)
