Pair of Art Deco armchairs and two poufs in walnut - 1930-1940

Outer elements of the armrests and legs veneered in European walnut with pronounced grain. Legs of the poufs made of solid walnut. * Upholstery: Traditional handcrafted production. Seats on straps and hand-tied steel springs. Padding made from natural materials: jute fabric, vegetable hair, and linen. * Upholstery fabric: Italian fabric made from eco-recycled cotton, undyed (fibres sorted by shades). Structure with three-dimensional (3D) weaving, finished with a decorative brown cord (piping). * Wood finish: Varnish applied in several layers, high-gloss polished with a mirror effect. * Dimensions of the armchairs: Width 70 cm|Depth 89.5 cm|Height 84 cm. Seat: width 59 cm|depth 54 cm|height 47 cm. Height of the armrests: 60 cm. Description and condition. Living room set comprising two armchairs and two poufs, made in Poland during the interwar period. The design combines the geometric discipline of Art Deco with the functionalism of emerging modernism. The characteristic element of the structure lies in the fluid and curved line of the armrests of the armchairs, which extend directly to form the front legs, giving the silhouette a dynamic profile. The poufs have cubic shapes with horizontal stitching that corresponds to the geometry of the armchairs. The set has undergone complete and specialised restoration in carpentry and upholstery. The structures of the four elements are perfectly stable and rigid. The varnished finish on the walnut elements is clean, smooth, and shiny. The upholstery fabric and the decorative cord are in impeccable condition, with no signs of wear. The furniture has not been used since its restoration.
