Poul Cadovius free standing wall unit for Cado, 1960s

This beautiful vintage Danish Royal freestanding teak wall unit designed by Poul Cadovius in the 1960s was manufactured by Cado in Denmark. It's extremely well built and still in perfect shape after 60 or more years of usage. The overall set size is H: 197 / W: 84 / D: 44 cm. This set stands on solid wood support legs with precise joinery and a unique skid shape. It is an entirely modular system that one can freely arrange according to his taste. The set includes one cabinet, or a secretaire with drop-front doors, which can serve as a hidden desk. With its inner shelf for documents, laptops, and accessories, it is an excellent alternative to a traditional desk and is ideal for creating discreet home office space in your living room. Typical of Cadovius’s design, the front is ornamented with thin teak strips, which are found in most of his wall units, as well as in pieces like the Governor sofa. Three shelves are perfect for displaying books and other accessories.  This wall unit consists of. Secretary with lockable drop-down doors H: 52 / W: 80 / D: 40 cm (89 cm with doors open) 3 shelves 20 cm deep. 2 support legs 197 cm long. Brass hardware. There is an original manufacturer’s engraving "Made in Denmark" on the back side of each shelf. The wood has been cleaned with professional compounds and finished with a few layers of Danish oil to add protection and enhance the grain. This piece is in perfect original vintage condition with only very few signs of age. We have many more Cadovius shelves.
