Charles-Henri Franzini d'Issoncourt – Portrait of Marie Louise Montel

Remarkable oil on canvas by Charles-Henri Franzini from Issoncourt (1872-?), a renowned French artist, pupil of masters Alexandre Cabanel and Elie Delaunay. The work, signed and located in Marseille, is dated 8 February 1915. It depicts with great sensitivity Marie Louise Montel and her son Georges. The artist, awarded a medal at the 1900 Exposition Universelle, demonstrates here his mastery of high-society portraiture from the Belle Époque.
