Space Age garden egg chair mid-century Senftenberg Egg by Peter Ghyczy, 1960s

Vintage design. Garden egg chair created by Peter Ghyczy in the 1960s. A classic of 1960s design. Folding egg-shaped chair, also known as the Senftenberg egg. The name refers to the base shape when folded. The central part is articulated and releases a seat shell inside. The cover also serves as a backrest. Inside, there is a consistent seat and back cushion, held in place by press studs in the shell. The chair is painted in bright red. At the back, the body forms a recess that serves as a handle. The chair is in very good condition with signs of wear. The cover has been renewed by an upholsterer.
