Painted Folk Art Bridal Cupboard 1856

Decorative bridal cabinet from 1856 in original paint. This cabinet is mainly painted in a reddish brown colour, and has many colourful decorations on the front. This copy comes from south germany, to be precise from franconia. The piece of furniture shows traces of use that can be expected with a piece of furniture of this age, for example, there are some old repairs visible and there are sporadically some old woodworm traces visible, which have of course been checked and treated. The cabinet has a small shelf and coat hooks on the inside. If desired, more shelves can easily be added. The original lock with key is still present. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. These pieces of furniture were later placed in a state room on the farm that was only rarely used for high-ranking visitors or special occasions.
