Glazed stoneware teapot with cobalt blue geometric decoration on a cracked ivory background. Beautiful swollen shape with simple and balanced lines, featuring an elongated spout and a sculpted handle in a very popular Art Deco style. Stencil decoration, composed of repetitive geometric patterns, slightly chalky cream shades, fine ancient crazing, and visible firing marks. The unglazed interior shows beautiful turning marks. An old French production likely made between 1925 and 1940, in the tradition of the decorated utilitarian stoneware workshops of the Centre or Burgundy. In good vintage condition, with a small discreet chip on the body, some old signs of use, and slight wear on the top of the handle, consistent with the age and use of the piece. Marks inside the lid. Soft and mineral patina (see photos). Height 14 cm, height without lid 11 cm, widest diameter 12.5 cm, handle to spout length 19.5 cm, estimated capacity around 80 to 100 cl. An antique piece with chalky tones and graphic decoration.
