1960s Scandinavian design Pitcher Berte Jessen Aluminia (Royal of Copenhagen) Tenera series decorated with plants, geometric patterns, all stylized and for some of them, a way of organizing and filling the space. Inspired by the Middle East, particularly Iznik. Decor 599 Shape 3143 Denmark Height: 140mm Length: 130mm Diameter: 100mm Weight: 385grs Born in 1937 in Copenhagen, Berte Jessen studied, from 1954 to 1958, at the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts. From 1958, she participated in the creation of the Tenera series, but also created other decorations for Aluminia: the Pastorale table service in 1964, the Junia coffee and tea service in 1967 and the Annette tea service in 1968. After her marriage to the artist Klaus Köhle, she moved to Germany where she opened her own ceramics studio in Hechingen, from 1972 until the early 2000s.
