Set of four Champagne chairs by Estelle & Erwine Laverne, France 1956

Set of four 'Champagne' chairs in very good condition. These chairs were designed by Estelle & Erwine Laverne in 1957 and produced by the French company Formes Nouvelles. The 'Champagne Chair' was part of the 'invisibles' group, a collection of organically formed acrylic seatings. The transparent lucite seat shell and aluminium base give the chair an aesthetic elegance and comfort. The chairs have a revolving swivel base that automatically returns to its center position. The cushions are upholstered with a beautiful natural coloured suede.
