Set of 6 "Champagne" model armchairs by American designers Erwine (1909-2003) and Estelle (1915-1998) Laverne. Armchairs originally produced for France by Formes Nouvelles. This model, created in 1957, is part of the "Invisible" furniture group developed by the couple, playing on the transparency of plexiglass. The seat is made of moulded transparent perspex with integrated armrests and a well-enveloping backrest. The central base is made of circular chrome metal. The armchair is swivel and automatically returns to the central position. The independent cushions are original, thick and padded, made of dark brown skai and buttoned. One cushion is missing from one seat. The perspex of the seats shows signs of wear over time. All seats have been consolidated and well restored at the central base, under the cushions (see photos). The bases have also been reinforced to ensure good stability. Inscription under the base of all chairs: "Champagne Chair Laverne Formes Nouvelles" for authenticity.
