A distinctive Model 5600 storage cabinet designed by A.R. Cordemeyer for Gispen in 1959. The modular metal construction combines open shelving, drawers and closed storage compartments within a clear architectural framework. The restrained grey structure is contrasted by fronts in red, green, yellow, purple and white, giving the cabinet its characteristic graphic appearance. A strong example of Dutch post-war modernist design, balancing functional storage with a playful use of colour. Condition.
