This early 19th-century Empire console table is executed in solid cherry and demonstrates the structural rigour of the Empire style: two columns at the front with bronze capitals, two rear uprights, and a curved stretcher connecting all four legs at the base. The polished cherry surface shines warm and deep. A drawer with an oval bronze knob provides discreet storage without interrupting the clear front of the Empire piece. At 100 cm wide and 81 cm high, this console is simultaneously a wall piece and a room accent. Placed in an entrance hall, it takes up minimal depth. Used in the salon or dining room as a side table or credenza, this Empire column console brings a touch of the Napoleonic period to the room. The bronze fittings on the column capitals and the base stretcher are original, the wood surface shows no significant damage. This French Empire console table in solid cherry is in excellent condition and ready for immediate use.
