Superb example of the map of Palestine by Victor Guérin, edition of 1881. This large format document (120 X 88 cm unfolded) is mounted on original linen canvas, allowing for compact folding to a size of 30 X 20 cm. Engraved by Hausermann in Paris, it features detailed topography at a scale of 1/250, 000. The canvas backing is in good condition. A beautiful collectible item or piece of historical decoration. Authentic signs of use on the canvas reverse.
