Very rare and large table lamp (55 cm excluding the shade!), with handles, adorned with a "water moss" decoration, signed Marius Giuge. Extremely decorative, this lamp features an enamel of exceptional brilliance and quality. The white is speckled with black and brown cells that contrast with the transparency of the enamel. This effect is achieved by adding chemical compounds to the enamel. The precise dosage of these cells creates variations in size and depth. This decoration, invented by Marius Giuge, inspired the "Fat Lava" ceramics, which were very popular in Germany in the late 1960s and 1970s. An emblematic piece of Marius Giuge's production from the 1960s and 1970s, it is signed on its base: MG – VALLAURIS – AM, for "Marius Giuge – Vallauris – Alpes-Maritimes". Some small signs of use are visible on the base, normal for an object of this age. It is otherwise in perfect condition.
