West German Fat Lava table lamp 1970s

Two large ring-shaped handles give the ceramic base of this West German table lamp from the 1970s a distinctive shape. Over the cream-white glaze are irregular, speckled areas in brown and black, with a dark brown glazed centre. The combination of colours and relief is typical of Fat Lava ceramics from that period. The lamp is generously sized and comes with the original tall fabric shade. The natural woven fabric is finished with a decorative band in brown and cream. In our workshop, the lamp has been hand-cleaned and technically checked. The shade is in very neat vintage condition. No manufacturer or designer has been identified.
