Antique Georgian sampling commode circa 1780-1820

We are delighted to offer for sale this superb Georgian sample chest circa 1780-1820, slightly restored, used as a collector's cabinet for shells. This rare and highly sought-after piece features a flamed mahogany structure with satinwood borders, finely crafted. It contains an organised collection of Georgian and Victorian shells, various stones, and even a few feathers from a rare bird. The item has been carefully cleaned, waxed, and polished. One area shows a slight wax filling and visible cracks, as well as minor discolouration of the veneer. Dimensions: height 35.5 cm, width 38 cm, depth 17.5 cm. Condition: good, with wear consistent with age and use, minor discolouration.
