Low buffet with Boulle wave design from the reign of Napoleon III. A very fine example of French furniture from around 1870. This piece is distinguished by its elegant curved shape and dynamic front. The dark brown chrysotile veneer harmoniously contrasts with the engraved brass inlays. The rich and refined decoration is inspired by the works of Jean Bérain or the Diehl house. It features complex arabesques and various figurative motifs. Exotic birds, chimeras, satyrs, and burlesque scenes animate the surface. The whole is finely executed and demonstrates great craftsmanship. The gilded bronzes are of very high quality. They elegantly highlight the lines of the piece. The white marble top is original. It adds brightness and refinement to the whole. The interior has two shelves providing practical storage space. This piece easily integrates into different interior styles. The condition is good with a few minor wear-related losses. Nothing too serious considering its age and quality. Dimensions: Width 107.5 cm. Depth 49 cm. Height 109 cm. A decorative and functional piece ideal for lovers of Napoleon III furniture.
