Large antique soup tureen in ironstone Creil and Montereau – Perruche

Magnificent large antique soup tureen made of ironstone from the French manufacture Creil et Montereau, model Perruche, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. Superb monochrome blue decoration depicting birds perched on flowering branches, accompanied by foliage and elegant Japonisme-inspired ornaments. A very beautiful antique piece with generous shapes, accompanied by its matching lid and intricately designed handles. It shows a magnificent patina of time, with pronounced crazing of the glaze and brownish hues that give it all its charm. The lid has a much less pronounced patina. The whole remains very decorative, ideal for a chic country decor, an antique interior, or an ironstone collection. Mark present under the base. It has a small chip on the lid's handle, stains, glaze crazing, and signs of use, particularly inside. One handle of the tureen has also been reattached in three places.
