Ironstone soup tureen Sarreguemines Fontanges model (circa 1880–1900),

Antique ironstone soup tureen from Sarreguemines, Fontanges pattern. Generous and balanced shape, highlighted by its side handles and domed lid with an arched grip. The Fontanges decoration in patinated burgundy red on an ivory background, with its ribboned flowers and delicately crafted friezes, adds a refined presence. Stamped Sarreguemines, Fontanges, and with an impressed mark: the stamp, shape, and decoration allow it to be dated to around 1880-1900. Length 31 cm from handle to handle, opening diameter 23.5 cm, widest diameter 25.5 cm, height with lid 21.5 cm, height without lid 13 cm, base diameter 13 cm. In beautiful vintage condition, with fine cracks in the glaze, slight signs of use, and small marks of time, patinas at the bottom of the tureen (see photos). Timeless and elegant, ideal for a refined country house table.
