Old Damchiya - Carved Indian furniture n°47

Old indian wedding chest carved in solid wood. The damchiya was the traditional chest containing the dowry that the indian bride took with her to settle with her husband. It was made at the request of the bride's family, in preparation for the wedding. Each piece is therefore unique! This damchiya features small round and rectangular mirrors typical of gujarat. This is a vintage, second-hand piece, traces of use are present, which contributes to its unique character and its charm.
