Small glazed earthenware bowl featuring a naive depiction of a horseman, Switzerland, circa 1930-1950. The bowl has a hand-painted decoration representing a horseman in a stylised landscape. Executed in a poetic and spontaneous manner, it combines green, yellow, and brown tones on a crackled ivory background. The treatment of the subject and the decorative style recall the production of Menelika Art Pottery in Geneva. Attributed to Menelika, Switzerland, circa 1930-1950.
