Antique gien plate – rouen decor – circa 1940-1960. A breath of history runs through this plate signed gien, decorated in the so-called "rouen" style, a tribute to the great french earthenware of the 17th century. Between floral arabesques, baroque escapes and bursts of deep blue highlighted with red and yellow, it embodies a tradition of ornamentation that is both sumptuous and refined. Produced between 1940 and 1960, this plate bears a stamp typical of the post-war period, when the gien earthenware factory, with its two-hundred-year-old know-how, reinterpreted classic decorations with exceptional manufacturing quality. On its own, it evokes a tableware art that never sacrifices beauty for simplicity. To hang, display or use every day as a touch of historical elegance. Very nice vintage condition: no chips, beautiful colors, very shiny, no micro scratches from use, just two or three tiny chips on the edges, very barely visible. Diameter 25 cm, height 3 cm.
