JAPAN: set of 5 genuine IMARI porcelain scalloped soup plates, late 19th / early 20th century (late Edo era to late Meiji era 1912). Dimensions: 21cm diameter X 3cm depth X 11cm base diameter), set in very good condition without cracks or chips (some firing points indicated): - 1 plate with 6 cartridges on a red background with blue green orange beige floral landscapes and in the center a circular landscape in blue, underneath with twigs in blue, 2 circles in blue outside the base - 1 plate with 6 cartridges on a blue and red background with floral motifs and blue green orange gold butterflies and in the center a circular landscape in blue, underneath with blue twigs with red flowers, 1 blue circle inside the base and 3 outside, small firing points - 1 plate with 8 cartridges on a red and blue background with red green orange beige floral motifs and in the center a large circular blue flower, underneath with twigs in blue, 1 blue circle inside the base and 3 outside - 1 plate with 8 cartridges on a blue background with floral and animal motifs (dog?) red blue orange beige and in the center a blue and red floral suspension, underside with twigs in blue, 1 blue circle inside the base and 3 outside, small firing points - 1 plate with 8 cartridges on a red and blue background with orange red green floral and geometric patterns and in the center a blue circular floral pattern, underside with twigs in blue, 1 blue circle inside the base and 3 outside, blue markings under the base, 4 Japanese ideograms (wealth and eternal spring) by the decorator FUKICHOSUN (Tamanaga Takaharu).
