This superb marquetry chest of drawers in the Louis XV style, made of mahogany during the first half of the 20th century, embodies the refinement and craftsmanship of French cabinetmaking. Its curved shape, typical of the rococo style, is enhanced by finely chiselled bronze mounts and sabots, which highlight the graceful curve of its legs. The drawers, with hidden crosspieces, offer a clean and fluid façade, reinforced by a discreetly integrated lock in the top drawer. The bronze handles, adorned with acanthus leaves, add a botanical and baroque touch, true to the decorative spirit of the 18th century. The richly carved central plinth brings a note of majesty to the whole, while the griotte marble top, with contrasting white veins, crowns the piece with brilliance and nobility. A character piece, this chest of drawers combines functionality and aesthetics in perfect harmony, reflecting a taste for historical styles and attention to detail in early 20th-century productions. ******** Period: First Half of the 20th Century Very good condition after restoration in our workshop Waxed finish on a hard base Delivery possible on request in France and internationally.
