François felix roubaud cerdon 1824 lyon 1876 sculptor and painter. He created numerous colossal sculptures which adorn public buildings, such as the lyon courthouse, the palais de la bourse... But also private commissions, busts, tombs. His works are present in many museums: brou bourg en bresse museum, fine arts museum in lyon, dinan museum, granet museum in aix en provence, orsay museum, palais du louvre paris, palace of versailles... As a painter, landscapes are attributed to him, more rarely still lifes. Very beautiful oil on wooden panel representing a pyramidal floral composition of roses and peonies. We can see a conical vase in the center. The flowers flow from the table and the vase in a natural movement. A few trailing shadows on the right betray light coming from the left of the painting. Material relief only on the bouquet. The rear of the panel is beveled in its height. Golden stuccoed frame. Signed fx roubaud lower left the frame shows fragility of the stucco with gaps, see penultimate photo. The panel is in excellent condition, healthy, solid and without weakness. A green line on the left at the edge of the frame and a few "scratches" in the middle to the right of the painting, nothing to worry about, see last photo. No catering. Length: 61.7 cm in the frame 55 cm gross without the frame height: 50.9 cm in the frame 44.5 cm gross without the frame thickness: 3 cm.
