Terracotta bust with a patina representing a notable or a bourgeois from the second half of the 19th century, dressed in a frock coat, waistcoat, and bow tie. Created in a naturalistic academic style, it rests on its original veined pink marble base. The reverse is signed "Pasquet" and dated 1870. This portrait, likely commissioned, illustrates the craftsmanship of French academic sculpture from the late 19th century. Despite the lack of documented attribution to date, the quality of the modelling, the expressiveness of the face, and the attention to detail in the costume make it a work of great presence. The condition is consistent with its age, with several chips and visible wear on the forehead, hair, cheeks, back of the head, and shoulders, clearly visible in the photographs. The old patina is well preserved, and the whole remains very decorative. Dimensions: height 29 cm (with base) × width 20 cm. Weight: 3.5 kg.
