This impressive fireplace was created by maison jansen in 1968 for a private mansion in the 16th arrondissement of paris, under the direction of pierre delbée. Made of brushed stainless steel, it features 18th-century carved stone jambs. The contrast between the brushed steel and the warmth of the stone is typical of pierre delbée's artistic direction of maison jansen in the late 1960s and 1970s. Delbée took over the direction of maison jansen after stéphane boudin's death in 1967, retaining the neoclassical signature while infusing it with a certain modernity. This fireplace perfectly illustrates the spirit of the 1970s at maison jansen. This fireplace was presented by galerie yves gastou in new york in 2006. Mantel dimensions: width 151.5 centimeters X depth 37 centimeters X height 97 centimeters. Firebox opening: width 77 centimeters X depth 18.5 centimeters X height 71 centimeters.
