Wood and brass tobacco and cigar box Napoleon III

Cigar and tobacco box made of blackened wood dating from 1865. Brass inlays on the top and front of the box. The words Tobacco and cigars are inlaid on the top of the lid. The brass letters represent leaves surrounded by a knot. Three brass borders surround the inscriptions. Two brass strips decorate the front. A lock allowed the box to be closed. Inside, two compartments painted in aluminium grey allow for the storage of cigars. A wooden grid can hold 16 cigars with a diameter of 1.5 cm. The other compartment contains the tobacco. A wooden and brass lid closes it. The underside of the piece bears inscriptions, including the date 1865. Overall good condition. Sold without the key. Dimensions: height 13 cm, 23.5 cm X 12.5 cm.
