Pair of beveled bronze mirrors louis XIV

We present here a splendid pair of small bronze mirrors that really offers a magnificent rendering. Probably from the nineteenth century, this set is rare, especially since the bevel of the mirrors is in excellent condition. The chiseled bronze is itself flawless, and exudes a beautiful luminosity. It is often in appliques that we find such wonders, but the candle holders then give an impression of heaviness that we obviously do not have here. On the contrary, the lines and drawings offer this impression of lightness how even the material used is bronze. The sun god who illustrates them, in bas-relief mascaron, the pedimented fan, or the corners that dominate them, connected by pretty entanglements, interlacing, more or less twisted, make these mirrors a total delight. Placed in a cascade, staggered pattern, parallel or offbeat, they will attract the eye, and even return the reflections, or the smiles that will be entrusted to them. Material: pretty bronzes and beveled mirrors. Dimensions of each frame: width 17 cm X height 24 cm (31.5 cm with pediments) X thickness 4 cm. Total weight: 1, 089 + 1, 080 = 2, 169 kg.
