Elegant octagonal mirror with parcloses, featuring bevelled glass and in the Louis XV style. Made of stuccoed and gilded wood, the frame is richly adorned and presents a frieze of ovals along the edge, with a delicate frieze of pearls highlighting the contours of the glass. The relief decoration unfolds in finely carved foliage and flowers, typical of the rococo taste. The pediment is crowned with a stylised shell, emblematic of the Louis XV style, framed by volutes and vegetal scrolls. This mirror combines decorative lightness with artisanal mastery, in a symmetrical and generously animated composition. The gilding, with a warm patina, accentuates the reliefs and gives the whole a precious shine without ostentation. A characterful decorative piece, ideal for enhancing a classic or eclectic interior. Period: Mid 19th century. Very good condition. Restorations.
