Superb set of four large Chinese panels with a vermilion red background, adorned with botanical compositions, calligraphy, and traditional seals in white reserve. These works feature an elegant botanical repertoire inspired by Chinese literati painting: flowering plum branches, bamboo, orchids, and vase compositions. Their remarkable red and white contrast, elongated formats, and harmonious presentation make them a particularly appealing decorative ensemble. A set with genuine artistic and historical interest. An in-depth documentary study has linked these compositions to the work of Peng Yulin (1816-1890), also known as Xueqin, a painter, calligrapher, and high official of the Qing dynasty. The four panels notably reproduce a pair of seals whose characteristics seem to correspond to those used by this artist. The technique appears to be that of traditional Chinese stamping in vermilion, made from an engraved matrix, pending confirmation by specialised examination. The attribution concerns the original compositions: the exact date of the prints remains to be determined. Each print is presented on a light textile surround, under glass, in a simple black frame. The framing was done in Belgium, in a workshop in Kortrijk. Dimensions: Each frame: 117.5 × 36 cm. Printed area: approximately 105.5 × 30 cm. Set of four matching panels. The surfaces show irregularities in pigmentation and small visible losses, characteristics to be examined considering the traditional technique used. General condition to be assessed from the photographs. A 30-page research dossier, including a technical study, iconographic analysis, historical comparisons, and detailed photographs, is available upon request. Sale of the complete set of four panels only.
