Bronze wall sconces Louis XVI, Belle Époque circa 1880–1910

Pair of classic wall sconces in bronze in the French Louis XVI style, dating from the late 19th century or early 20th century (circa 1880–1910), Belle Époque and Fin de Siècle period. The symmetrical composition features neoclassical motifs: a central shaft in the form of a stylised fluted column, acanthus leaves, and an urn crowning the whole. Finely chiselled cast bronze work, an alloy composed of approximately 90% copper and a small amount of tin. Dimensions of one sconce: H 34 × W 22 × D 15 cm. Very good overall condition. Holes have been drilled later for electrification. The sconces can be used as decorative elements or with candles. Sold as a pair.
