Superb pair of antique wall sconces in finely chiselled bronze, in the neoclassical Louis XVI style, with a marked transition towards the Directory / early Empire. Each sconce features two elegantly curved arms of light, framing a richly decorated central shaft adorned with acanthus leaves, tied ribbons, floral garlands, and cornucopias, classic symbols of prosperity and abundance. The whole is distinguished by symmetrical and refined ornamentation, typical of the late 18th century. The bronze offers a beautiful old patina, reflecting its age and quality of craftsmanship. These sconces will immediately add charm, elegance, and character to a classic, Haussmannian, or charming interior.
