COD 11481. Antique Italian painting from the late 17th century. Oil on canvas artwork depicting a religious subject, Adoration of Friars with Cherubs, of good pictorial quality. This vertically arranged painting, beautifully scaled and proportioned, is ideal for antique dealers and collectors of ancient sacred art. The two friars welcome the Holy Spirit from heaven, surrounded by clouds and cherubs. At the bottom, a small angel holds a lily, the symbol of Saint Anthony. The painting comes complete with a modern wooden frame (see photo) in good condition. The painting has undergone conservative restoration, relining, replacement of the stretcher, and restoration of the color in some areas (see photo). Overall, the painting is in good condition.
