Superb pair of B35 armchairs, produced by Thonet in the 1960s, based on the iconic design of Marcel Breuer, a central figure in the Bauhaus movement. Originally designed in 1928 and presented at the Grand Palais in Paris in 1930 as part of the German Werkbund exhibition, the B35 armchair was one of the first to introduce the cantilever principle with a tubular steel structure — an aesthetic and functional revolution in the history of furniture. This faithful reissue from the 1960s retains all the qualities of the original: • Structure: chrome-plated tubular steel • Seat and backrest: black leather stretched over straps • Armrests: curved wood • Comfort: characteristic flexibility thanks to the suspension • Condition: good vintage condition, even patina of the leather, very solid structure These armchairs are both collectible design pieces and remarkably comfortable seats, perfect in a modernist interior, an architect's office or a gallery. Here are their dimensions: Total height 87 cm Length 65 cm Depth 76 cm Seat height 35 cm Armrest height 60 cm
