B3 Wassily chair by Marcel Breuer for Knoll

After Marcel Breuer (1902-1981) abandoned his training in Vienna and went to the Bauhaus in Weimar, his talent was obvious. He and Mart Stam are the inventors of tubular steel furniture. In 1925, during his time as a master craftsman and teacher at the Bauhaus, he designed the B3 at the age of 25. He then worked with Walter Gropius at Harvard University until 1946 and then set up his own business. The B3 Wassily armchair is made of tubular steel and covered with leather. In the backrest is embossed Marcel Breuer lettering. Design: Marcel Breuer. Manufacturer: Knoll. Very good condition.
