Inspired by the Dutch De Stijl movement and Soviet constructivism, Marcel Breuer created a radical avant-garde model in 1925 with the B3 chair. The Wassily chair became an emblematic example of modernity and remains an icon of modernism. Breuer, then head of the furniture workshop at the Bauhaus in Dessau, immigrated to the United States in 1933 due to his Jewish heritage. There, he co-founded the architecture department at Harvard University with Walter Gropius and became one of the most renowned architects of his generation. Chromed tubular steel structure and black full-grain leather upholstery. Engraving "Marcel Breuer" on the backrest. Very good condition. Delivered disassembled.
