Louis Kalff prototype table lamp 1950

Louis Kalff Very early or prototype Decora or table lamp Z Netherlands 1950s. This is a very rare table lamp Z, very early or prototype, by Louis Kalff for Philips, Netherlands. An iconic mid-century design. This is not a normal Z lamp. It is a very early model or even a prototype from the mid-1950s with several visible differences compared to a normal Z lamp, including a fully lacquered black base stem, a rounded brass support, and a brass plate without the Philips logo on the lampshade. This model is officially called Decora or L 588 FD, but also known as the Z lamp due to its Z-shaped frame. The lamp has a beautiful patina on the brass frame and lampshade, which adds to the charm of this cult design. The rounded lampshade resembles the roof of the Evoluon building designed by Kalff in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
