Vintage Dutch Decora or Z table lamp by Louis Kalff for Philips, 1956

The Decora desk lamp was designed by Louis Kalff in 1956 and is also known as the Z-lamp. This Dutch design was manufactured by Philips in the 1950s. Kalff was inspired by the 'Evoluon', a UFO-shaped building in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The lamp is in very good, original condition, featuring a solid brass base and an iron shade with small openings that provide excellent lighting. Well-known trademarks of this design are the opening at the top of the lamp shade and the smaller openings around the shade, allowing the mirror bulb to create beautiful light effects. The lamp is in working order and shows light wear consistent with age and use.
