A dining chair 'model Tonneau' designed by Pierre Guariche and produced by Steiner in France in the 1950s. The frame consists of honey-coloured moulded plywood shells. The shell is in good condition and the backs show no signs of wear. The beech legs are also in very good condition. A splendid example of post-war modernism: functional, sculptural, and light as a feather. Guariche also made this chair with steel legs, but we have here the rarer wooden version labelled by Steiner underneath.
