Bank Monks Antique Carved Lion Griffin 1860 with Storage

We are delighted to offer for sale this magnificent Monks bench made of hand-carved oak circa 1860, originating from northern Italy, featuring lions, griffins, and a coat of arms with hunting scenes on the back and base. A very aesthetic and well-crafted hall bench, highly popular and collectible, often seen in entryways, with storage under the seat used for shoes. A handcrafted masterpiece with a large coat of arms carved with a griffin, lions as armrests with a Gothic head, and carved feet, along with panels on the back and base illustrating a very detailed hunting scene. The wood has been lightly cleaned, waxed, and hand-polished, showcasing a beautiful period patina. Dimensions: Height 134 cm, Width 108 cm, Depth 51.5 cm, Seat height 52 cm. The item shows wear consistent with its age and use, with slight minor discolouration.
