Magnificent bench-chest in the style of Henri II (Neo-Renaissance), dating from the late 19th century. An imposing piece, richly crafted, ideal for an entrance, a vestibule, or as a characterful storage bench. Decor and finishes: Curved pediment with a sculpted radiating shell design. Openwork upper gallery with interlaced circle patterns, framed by turned floral motifs. Sculpted panels on the front: floral rosettes and a central motif with a leafy urn. Curved armrests with scrolls, resting on turned columns. Lift-up seat providing access to a spacious storage chest, interior lined with burgundy velvet. Base with three sculpted panels on the lower front. Material: solid wood (walnut/oak), beautiful antique patina.
