Antique wooden and marble secretary
An antique secretary, probably dating from the second half of the 19th century, topped with a light marble surface and structured by a drop-down front concealing a tiered compartment as well as several small interior drawers. Made from a veneer with pronounced flames — likely mahogany or walnut — it stands out for its classic cabinet-making work, which also includes a large drawer at the top and doors at the bottom. Its presence and clever storage solutions make it a choice piece for structuring a living room or setting up a cosy office corner. Condition: The piece is sound, stable, and functional, with the drop-down front opening correctly on its lining and the doors closing well. The whole presents a beautiful old patina with some superficial micro-scratches from use, discreet small dents on the edges, and slight marks on the wood due to age. There are discreet and consistent signs of wear that attest to its authenticity without detracting from its overall appearance or solidity.
