Italian art deco burl walnut chest of drawers, 1850s. Three big drawers provide a lot of storage room. Brass pull handles and a newly traditional hand-polished shellac finish completes the fantastic look of this extraordinary masterpiece of Italian craftsmanship. The spectacular pattern of the walnut veneer used to sheathe every surface of this chest of drawers is amazing and showcases the exceptional skill of early twentieth century handcrafted wood makers in Italy. In good condition, despite of some scratches/marks/natural wood cracks (seen on photos), consistent with age and use. It has just been restored and refreshed with a splendid shellac finish by the Italian restorer. Presented of some minimal moth holes. The drawers cannot be locked due to the lack of original keys. The left side is with some remained defects despite of the recent restoration. Measurement: Width 126cm X Height 91cm X Depth 60cm. Made in Italy. Period: 1850s.
