The tripod servant in red earth is an emblematic piece by Jean Austruy (1910-2012), a central figure in the revival of French ceramics. Based in Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie since 1943, Austruy left his mark on the post-war period with his modernist forms and research on textures, actively participating in the golden age of the "potters of Vallauris." The object features three bowls connected by an intertwined helical handle, a technical feat perfectly preserved here. The piece is distinguished by its frothy white-grey glaze with an "orange peel" effect, whose transparency reveals the terracotta underneath. This process creates very lovely pink and ochre nuances in the incised geometric patterns (chevrons and cups). Very good condition. Diameter 19 cm. Height 9 cm. Diameter of each bowl 10 cm.
